Hi, I'm Joey.
Are you tired of telling yourself you'll sort it out when work calms down, watching the belt move out a hole a year, and feeling your own body turn into something you manage instead of something you use? Then let me say the truth out loud: after 35, getting back in shape is not just “eat less, move more.” In fifteen years of coaching I've never once met a man who needed more willpower. My road here was not a straight one. I started out in the United States Marine Corps and found this kind of training there. After the military I set out to travel the world, and in 2005 the road ended in Prague. In 2011 I opened CrossFit Committed, the second gym of its kind in the country. We started with a few stubborn people training outdoors in Letná park, and over fifteen years we've grown into a community our members honestly describe as a second family. In that time I've helped over 1,000 people around Prague, most of them 35+ with a desk job and a calendar that never lets up, lose the weight that was holding them back. Outside the gym I'm a dad of two daughters I'm crazy about, and I have a dog I love: Tuna, the Labrador who works here as our mascot and head of morale.
